Really Ranga

After listening to his album, three pieces of
each more than 15 minutes, one can say that
it is real Ranga music. That is classical Indian
meditation-tantra and yoga music.
We did try it out- not on a yoga math or stool-
but simply on a creaky chair behind the pc.
Even than the meditative impact of the Indian
violin and the soft drumming on the tablas is evident.
The aim of this album is to take you on a journey
beyond the horizon of your own consciousness.
A place to come into contcat with the deeper layers
of your divine being. A source of pure love and light.

Racy Drone

Sacred Garden of the Dutch duo Ranga is a long
composition divided into three parts. The Rhythm
calls for a comparision with the laws of nature.
Coen Helfenrath originator of Minimal Mantra Music is together with the racy drone of Ted de Jongs tabla
really capable of creating colours.

prefer to do when listening to this music...?
Exactly, with a mellow atmosphere for instance!

and happiness", according to the cover.
An that is completely true.

Wenn eine CD aus nur drei Tracks besteht,
sollten diese richtig gut sein. Auf „Sacred Garden“
ist das der Fall – jedes der drei zwischen 15 und 20
Minuten langen Stücke geht nicht nur ins Ohr,
sondern auch tiefer.
„Hidden Entrance“, Lasting Embrace“ und
„Fountain of Bliss“, so die Namen der drei
Kompositionen, sind wiederMeisterleistungen
ihrer musikalischen Väter Coen Helfenrath
und Ted de Jong, die diesmal von Marianne
Svazek an der Sarangi begleitet werden.
Wer die Vorgänger-Alben der Niederländer
kennt, kauft diese CD aber wahrscheinlich sowieso unbesehen.
„Tantric music to open inner worlds“ ist das Album
übertitelt – was ich hier zunächst als Kontakt mit
heiligen inneren Räumen durch das Eintauchen in die samtweichen Klangteppiche und die dadurch
aufsteigenden Assoziationen verstehen würde.
Der Verlag weist die Klänge von „Sacred Garden“
jedoch insbesondereals „sinnliche, erotische Musik,
die wunderbar für Massagen oder zärtliche Stunden
zu zweit geeignet ist“ aus. Auch dies mag zutreffen.
